Once considered a hotbed of footballing talent in the whole country, Dehradun’s football culture has indeed fallen on lean days. Official apathy and lack of good facilities and incentives means that football is now almost wholly restricted to weekend enthusiasts.
Spice Jet has now become the fourth airline operator in the Delhi-Dehradun sector. Flights by Jet Airways, Kingfisher and Air India are already operational in this sector. Jolly Grant Airport is conveniently close to Dehradun, Rishikesh and Haridwar.
If one talks of favourite bookshops in Dehradun, the bookworms of the town will in all probability mention Natraj Bookshop and The English Book Depot-- two of the oldest and most well known book shops in the Doon Valley.
